Design Workshop «Can Bin Can»
A different view of the everyday

A workshop by Alexandra Martini, Industrial Designer, and her students from the Vakalo School in cooperation with the Goethe Institut Inter Nationes. The workshop «Can Trash Can!» will take place at the Vakalo School (26 Katsoni St., Lykavettos) from 5th May to 9th May.

«Can Trash Can» is a series of perspectives on the Athens dustbins, developed in a design-workshop on the Athens trash can. Together with 15 students of the Vakalo School of Art and Design Athens featured by Goethe-Institute Inter Nationes, the designer Alexandra Martini is setting the spotlight on the Athens litter bin. Examination of the local appearance of this global theme - trash - is presented to the public by means of an intervention in public space.

Ôhe objects are reflecting interaction of the object, people and the place, through various approaches in order to give an unusual look at the usual, as well as playing with form, material and function. Drawing the attention to the role the trash can play in our every day culture, we can see its general usefulness. But more than that we discover, that the Athens trash can is worth looking at, using it and even having fun with it. Have a contemplative, inspiring look at the urban surrounding that is your living environment!
