Group Art Exhibition in co operation with the “Forum Weltoffen”, International Network for Cultural Exchange, based in Austria, with painters from Slovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Bosnian, Bulgaria, Albania, Fyrom, Romania, Greece and Austria .
The art exhibition “Good Morning, Balkan” by the „Forum Weltoffen“ from Austria opened its doors June 2nd within the framework of the 5th ECO Festival at the Cultural Center of Athens. The Vice Mayor of Athens, Mr Panayiotis Loukakos, the Ambassador of Austria Dr. Rene Pollitzer, the President of the National Greek Tourism Organization Mr Patelis, the president of “Forum Weltoffen” Mr Fatmir Velaj and the President of “Clean Up Greece” inaugurated the exhibition. The ceremony was accompanied by Balkan tunes.
Artists from all Balkan countries presented their work jointly, expressing through their talents, their design and colors their worries, their problems, their hope, their wishes and correct at the same time mistakes of the past and present an example for better communication and understanding between countries and regions.
This exhibition with world famous artists such as Hermann Nitsch, Adolf Frohner, and Theodoros Papagianis as well as young and dynamic talents took place with the kind support of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the City of Vienna, the City of Athens and National Tourist Organization of Greece (EOT).
The aim of the exhibition is the deepening and fostering of the exchange of knowledge and best practices in regard to cultural pluralism with a view to facilitating, in diversified societies, the inclusion and participation of persons and groups from varied cultural backgrounds. «Forum Weltoffen» believes that working with art and culture will help forward the process of peace in our time.
