The clean up at the beach of Varkiza took place with the participation of 50 volunteers from various schools and the support of the Municipality of the area. The clean up lasted 2 hours from 10.30 to 12.30 and the amount of garbage gathered was quite big. 
Representatives from Clean up Greece supervised the whole procedure and coordinated the students who filled up statistical sheets, regarding the material and the amount of the garbage they collected.
A total of 20 bags were filled with garbage. Almost 30 % of the garbage was plastic, 20 % paper and 20 % metal (mostly aluminum cans).
