The “Clean up the World Day” is an organisation, which began in Australia in 1989.  Since then it has spread throughout the world unifying more than 40 million people from 120 countries, in global clean up activity.

As the official representative in Greece of “Clean up the World”, CuG participates in the “Clean up the World Day” celebration. Clean ups of beaches, streets and town squares are organised each September with the participation of many volunteers.  Each year during the last three days of May, it participates in the “Clean up the Mediterranean” initiative of the Italian Environmental Organisation Legambiente, which organises the cleaning of beaches with the help of volunteers from 19 Mediterranean countries.

This year, "Clean Up Greece" has organised a number of events to celebrate the "Clean Up the World" Day .
